'SPIRALING THROUGH TIME' MY AWARD WINNING 2002 ELLERSLIE FLOWER SHOW EXHIBIT
During 14 years of trading, Standards of Excellence has had many topiary displays at both public and trade-only events. The first ever was Grow-Expo in 1999. This two day public event showcased a variety of products from the Bay of Plenty and was held at the beautiful Mills Reef Winery.
In 2000 Claudia designed her first topiary exhibition garden for the Ellerslie Flower Show. This was a great success and featured on Maggies Garden Show as one of the award winning show gardens. Two more award winning designs followed in 2002 and 2005. Claudias topiary was also used in EFS exhibits for Naturally Native, The British Tourist Authority, The NZ Gardener, Auckland Botanical Gardens and in the Celebration Garden, which marked the 10 year jubilee of the Ellerslie Flower Show.
To supply the horticultural trade, Standards of Excellence has attended Trade Day at the Auckland Show Grounds twice a year since autumn 2001. Because a specialist topiary grower is a bit of a rear breed, many landscapers and Garden Centres have become loyal customers and secure stock a year or more in advance.
